Get To Know David Terry
David attained his MBA from West Texas A&M University in 2000. In 2001, he co-founded the WTAMU Enterprise Center, a business incubator serving start-up and early-stage entrepreneurs in the Texas Panhandle region. Under David’s leadership, the Enterprise Center grew to assist more than 100 client companies.
In 2007, David purchased Chop Chop Japanese Steakhouse, a single location fast-casual hibachi style grill in Amarillo, Texas. Since the acquisition, Chop Chop Rice Co. now has five locations in Amarillo and Lubbock. He also founded Destination Coaching & Training in 2018, and believes that this role and the formation of this company was a combination of his life’s experiences and the work that he loves. Since the formation of Destination Coaching & Training, David has become a licensed facilitator of the Coaching Clinic® and certified by the International Coach Federation as a Professional Certified Coach. In the past 13 years, David has instructed and led coaching clinics all around the world and worked with high achievers who are making a dent in the universe.
Most recently, David founded TITL Growth Partners LLC, an independent sponsor company engaged in acquisition entrepreneurship. In March 2023, he finalized his first acquisition in the tech and manufacturing space. His desire is to build a portfolio of acquisitions around business owners who are looking for growth transition or legacy transition.
At the beginning of 2024, David merged Destination Coaching with TITL Growth Partners LLC, as he recognized the opportunity to capitalize upon his growing network as well as his desire to connect with people in growing and advancing their businesses.
David is a committed husband, father and grandfather. He and his wife, Robin, live in Amarillo, Texas. They have two children and three granddaughters. In his spare time, David enjoys time on the golf course, fly fishing or doing almost anything outdoors. He also enjoys being active with his family in a card game, board game or watching a movie. David is a coffee snob and enjoys an occasional crafted beer or fine glass of wine.
